The lovely thing about combining wire with other elements is that you can use all sizes and shapes of gemstones, crystals and beads. If a stone is particularly irregular shape I can still do a freeform wrap and use it in a piece. As I’m staying away from glue & soldering, wrapping a stone can get challenging but with a bit of trial and error – and oodles of patience – it will all click into place.
Beads tend to be easier as they have pre-drilled holes, it’s just a question of choosing the wire gauge so that the wire will fit through the hole.
